About the event
This class is specifically designed to equip firefighters with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively and safely gain entry into structures during emergency situations. Students will learn the techniques and tools used for forcible entry, including the proper use of forcible entry tools such as axes, halligan bars, hydraulic tools, and power saws.
Through a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on training exercises, students will practice various forcible entry techniques, including inward and outward swinging door forcible entry, padlock removal, window entry, and through-the-lock techniques. Emphasis will be placed on safety procedures, proper tool handling, and teamwork in executing forcible entry operations.
Additionally, students will learn how to assess different types of doors, windows, and barriers to determine the most effective forcible entry method to use in different scenarios. They will also study building construction types and how they impact forcible entry operations.
By the end of the class, students will have the skills and confidence to effectively and efficiently gain access to structures during emergencies, allowing them to better protect lives and property.
